The Parish Council plays an active part in all local planning issues. It is probably the area of the Council's role that is best known to the community and which can be of the most importance. The Parish Council however does not have a direct impact on the planning decisions, but acts as a consultee. The parish Council has does not have the ability to grant or refuse planning applications as this decision is made either by the planning officers or planning committee at Surrey Heath Borough Council. As a consultee the Parish Council can offer a local perspective to planning applications.
A Village Design Statement Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) was adopted on the 2nd August 2016 by the Surrey Heath Borough Council’s Executive. The SPD will support policies on design in the adopted Core Strategy and Development Management Policies Development Planning Document
